Improving the lives of Winnipeggers in need by coordinating, fundraising, and volunteer projects through a collective of empathetic, action-oriented citizens committed to making a difference.
Who We Are
Project Echo is a Winnipeg based charity with the goal of improving our community by helping those in need. It is a way for Winnipeggers to collectively give of their time, money or efforts to achieve a better quality of life for our community. The Echo is when we reach out to our community for help and they respond back.
Project Echo works on many projects throughout the year that benefit people who haven’t had the same advantages in life as many others have. Whether it be providing food and clothing to a local shelter or finding a way to send a group of kids from an inner city school to go see a play for the first time, Project Echo is there to help.
Project Echo members and sponsors are a generous network of people that make things happen and are always ready to help. If you have a project that you think will help our community let us know.
Giving is a powerful act. It enriches not only the recipient, but the giver as well. Like drops in a pond or echoes in the air, the giving is magnified and expands exponentially. Project Echo is where the giving starts.
We have several ongoing and seasonal projects through which the giving flows. We encourage you to help in any way you can and let your echo begin.
Project Echo believes that through a collective effort we can make Winnipeg a better place to live, creating a city where those who need us most are treated with respect and receive assistance in reaching their full potential. Project Echo’s vision is to help Winnipeg and its citizens feel good… as givers and receivers… one ripple at a time.

How It All Began
Project Echo was started by a small group of dedicated Winnipeggers who shared a belief that everyone, regardless of age, gender or circumstance, deserves the basic essentials in life: food, shelter, clothing and humanity.
What started as hampers and food for three families at Christmas has turned into a force of action for people in need: struggling families, the homeless or people just down on their luck.
Today, Project Echo helps hundreds of families with dinners during Christmas, as well as supporting clothing drives and rebuilding the kitchen at Lighthouse Mission.
Project Echo has touched the lives of thousands of people through their volunteers’ generosity of time, money and labour.
